How it runs

Five steps, one fixed quote

Scoped and built by the same developers, with your buyers testing on staging before anyone orders for real.

  1. 01 Audit

Catalog, price rules, accounts and the ERP reviewed over video with whoever owns each, ending in a written plan, a dated schedule and a fixed quote.

  2. 02 Model

Companies, catalogs, terms and product data designed before anything is built.

  3. 03 Build

Portal, catalog and ERP sync built on a staging store.

  4. 04 Buyer testing

A handful of your real accounts place test orders against their own prices, which is how the pricing rule nobody mentioned gets found.

  5. 05 Launch

Redirects go live with the DNS switch, buyers get their invitations, and the first orders on terms are watched for 30 days.

We are Victoria Garland Creative Inc., a B2B ecommerce agency based in Ontario that has built on Shopify since 2012. We build online ordering for manufacturers and distributors whose dealers still send purchase orders by email, or log in to a portal the reps quietly gave up on. The dealer portal, the catalog with its spec data, the quote flow, the move off the old site and the ERP sync are one project, scoped by the developers who build it, on one fixed quote.

Already selling DTC on Shopify and adding wholesale accounts? That is a smaller job: Shopify B2B and wholesale setup.

Custom Shopify app

Manual order routing, eliminated

Every marketplace order now routes itself to the right independent roaster, with live carrier rates per origin and labels dispatched automatically.

Capital Grills Catalog + search structure

A brick-and-mortar retailer's first online store

Years of in-store BBQ retail, no ecommerce. We catalogued the grills and outdoor kitchen range and structured it so customers find the right one without digging.

Shopify NZ → US

One bespoke theme, two regional stores

A complex theme built on metaobjects and metafields, migrated intact with store data to a new US store to open regional markets. No theme rework.

You scope the project with the people who build it. The developer on the kickoff call is the developer on launch day.

Request a B2B Ecommerce Quote

Pick how your buyers order today and leave a few details, and you will hear from the developer who would build it, not an account manager. What you sell and which ERP holds your pricing get covered on the scoping call.

What happens after you send this

  1. A reply from Alex or Victoria within one business day.
  2. A free 30-minute scoping call over video.
  3. A written plan and a fixed quote after the audit.

The plan is yours to keep, whoever builds it. The number is settled before any code runs.

Rather talk first? Book the scoping call and skip the form.

1. What do your trade buyers order from today?

2. Where should the plan go?

Illustrative excerpt in the format every project receives, not a client's URLs. Built from Search Console and the old site's own redirect table, so the PDF and historical URLs that still carry links are in it too.

Pricing and account map How your current price rules become companies, catalogs and terms
What you have todayWhere it lives in Shopify B2B
A dealer with three branchesOne company, three locations, buyers per location
Distributor price levelA catalog with its own price list
Contract price on one SKU for one accountA fixed price in that account's catalog
Net 30 for approved accountsPayment terms on the company
Order in case packs of 12Quantity rule (increment) on the product

Illustrative. The real one is built in the audit with whoever owns pricing, one row for every rule you apply today.

What We Build for Trade Buyers

  • Dealer and distributor portals. Each trade account is a company with its locations and buyers. New accounts wait for your approval, and reordering is a saved list or a quantity table.
  • Contract and tiered pricing. Distributor tiers, per-account contract prices and case or pallet breaks become catalogs with their own price lists, so a buyer logs in and sees their number.
  • Quotes and net terms. Large or custom orders start as a quote the rep turns into a draft order. Approved accounts check out on terms, and the invoice follows.
  • Catalogs with spec data. Up to 2,048 variants per product, specs as structured fields buyers can filter on, and spec sheets, CAD files and manuals as downloads on the product page.
  • ERP and accounting sync. The ERP stays the source of truth. We build the sync on Gadget.dev with retries and a log your team can read, covered in detail on the Shopify NetSuite integration and Shopify QuickBooks integration pages.
  • Sales-rep ordering. Reps place orders for a buyer at that buyer’s prices and terms, entered once into the system the warehouse already watches.

Most of this runs on the standard Shopify plans. Whether you need Shopify Plus is settled in the audit, and the Plus break-even calculator shows which side of the line you are on.

Moving Off WordPress or a Legacy B2B Portal

On a WordPress catalog site, the spec pages, installation guides and PDFs are what rank for your part numbers. Every indexed URL gets a one-to-one 301, built from Search Console and the site’s own redirect table before anything moves, so a spec sheet a distributor linked to years ago still resolves. Product data is cleaned in the audit (units that differ by customer, SKUs renamed three systems ago), so it is in the plan rather than a surprise. The WooCommerce to Shopify migration page covers the mechanics.

From a legacy dealer portal, the accounts, price levels, terms and order history come across. Your dealers log in on launch day to the prices they had and can repeat last month’s order, and nobody re-registers. The old site stays up as a fallback until the day-30 report is in.

Coming from BigCommerce or Magento instead? Our Shopify migration agency page covers each source platform.

Shopify integration services for the 3PL, CRM and custom systems around the portal, and Shopify app development for a rep workflow or configurator a theme cannot do.

FAQs

Will we lose search traffic or data moving off our current site?

Not if the move is done properly: every indexed URL, spec-sheet PDFs included, gets a one-to-one 301, and products, accounts and order history come across intact. Some ranking movement is normal while Google reprocesses the redirects, so we watch the 404 log and your top pages for 30 days and fix anything we missed.

Do our existing dealers have to re-register?

No. Accounts, price levels, payment terms and order history are imported before launch, so each buyer gets an invitation and logs in on day one to the prices and terms they already have.

How long does a B2B ecommerce project take?

It depends on the SKU count and how clean the data is, how many pricing rules exist, and how the ERP is set up, so we do not guess before we have seen them. The audit ends with a dated milestone schedule, and that is the schedule we hold to.

How is a B2B project priced?

On one fixed quote, written after the audit once we have seen the catalog, the price rules and the ERP. The number is agreed before any code runs, and the written plan is yours to keep whoever builds it.

Can it connect to our ERP?

Yes. NetSuite and QuickBooks Online are the ones we build for most often, and we connect others such as Business Central through their APIs, with retries and alerts when a write fails, though if a well-supported connector app covers your setup we will say so rather than build one.
