From real migrations
“Victoria Garland brought invaluable Shopify expertise and helped us streamline our process. They’ve truly been a great partner, and we continue to work with them.”

“Through the projects that Alex has worked on with us, he has been proactive, responsive, time conscious, and reasonably priced. We are still working with them and so far there has been no reason to switch.”
“Thank you very much. You and your team are worth every penny, and more!”

How it runs
Five steps, one fixed quote
Scoped and run by the same developer, with your old store kept up as the rollback until the new one is signed off.
- 01
Audit
We inventory the current store: catalog, plugins, custom code, integrations and every indexed URL.
- 02
Plan and quote
You get the data map, the redirect map, app replacements, a dated schedule and one fixed quote.
- 03
Build on staging
Data imported and the custom theme built on a staging store, signed off page by page against the live one.
- 04
Cutover
DNS switched and redirects deployed in the same hour, with the old store kept up as the rollback.
- 05
Monitor
Thirty days of watching the 404 log, Search Console, rankings and orders, then a handover report.
Our ecommerce migration services move a store onto Shopify or Shopify Plus from WooCommerce, Magento, BigCommerce, Lightspeed, Squarespace, Wix or a custom build, and nothing gets left behind. We have built on Shopify since 2012, and we run the data, the redirects and a new custom theme as one project, so launch day is a relaunch rather than a downgrade. Pick your platform in the quote form and the redirect example below switches to match.
Recent Online Store Migrations
Named where the client allows it. The store moves, the data survives, and selling does not stop.
A rebrand, replatformed in one week
Storefront moved in seven days, theme licenses and apps carried over, no downtime at cutover.
See the OYM project →One bespoke theme, two regional stores
A metaobject-heavy theme and its store data moved intact from the New Zealand store to a new US store. No theme rework.

IntegrationsFulfillment routed across a roaster network
A custom Shopify app that sends each order to the right roaster with live carrier rates per origin. The kind of integration a migration has to reconnect.

You scope the project with the people who build it. The developer on the kickoff call is the developer on launch day.
Request a Migration Quote
Pick your platform and leave a few details, and you will hear from the developer who would run the migration, not an account manager. Any B2B setup and the custom pieces you depend on get covered on the scoping call.
What happens after you send this
- A reply from Alex or Victoria within one business day.
- A free 30-minute scoping call on your current store.
- A written migration plan and a fixed quote within five business days.
The plan is yours to keep, whoever runs the migration. The number is settled before any code runs.
Rather talk first? Book the scoping call and skip the form.
1. What are you leaving?
2. Where should the plan go?
What you receive, on every project
Redirect map One row for every indexed URL, before anything moves
| Old URL | New URL | Rule |
|---|---|---|
| /product-category/hoodies/ | /collections/hoodies | 301 |
| /product/heavyweight-hoodie-black/ | /products/heavyweight-hoodie-black | 301 |
| /product-category/hoodies/page/3/ | /collections/hoodies | 301 |
| /shop/?orderby=price | /collections/all | 301 |
| /2019/03/spring-lookbook/ | /blogs/journal/spring-lookbook | 301 |
| /product/discontinued-tee/ | /collections/tees | 301 (nearest) |
| /?add-to-cart=1042 | never indexed, dropped | 410 |
Excerpt in the format every project receives. Built from Search Console and the old platform's own redirect table, not from a crawl of the live site, so historical URLs that still carry rankings are in it too.
Cutover runbook Launch day, with the clock on it
- T-7 daysContent freeze on the old store. Staging store signed off against the live one, page by page.
- T-1 dayFinal delta import: orders, customers and inventory changed since the last sync.
- 09:00DNS switched. Redirect map deployed in the same hour, not the next morning.
- 09:15Crawl of the full old-URL inventory against the new store. Every row has to return its mapped page.
- 10:00Test orders through every payment method and shipping zone. Integrations confirmed live: ERP, 3PL, email.
- Same dayNew sitemap submitted, Search Console change of address filed, old store left up as a fallback.
The cutover itself takes a couple of hours. Everything before it is what makes those hours uneventful.
Post-launch monitoring Thirty days of watching, with a report at each checkpoint
- Day 1404 log reviewed and any missed URL added to the map.
- Day 7Search Console coverage and indexing read. Core Web Vitals on the new storefront against the old.
- Day 14Rankings for the top landing pages compared to the pre-migration baseline.
- Day 30Handover report: traffic, rankings, orders and open items. Old store decommissioned.
Included in every project. The most common post-migration traffic drop is a missed historical URL, and it shows up in the 404 report inside the first week.
What Every Migration Includes
- Data. Products with variants, images and metafields, customer records, full order history, and blog content.
- Redirects. A one-to-one 301 for every indexed URL, built from Search Console and the old platform’s own redirect table.
- SEO continuity. Titles, meta descriptions, canonicals and structured data carried across, live on launch day.
- A custom theme. Built during the migration and included in the quote, not billed as a follow-on project.
- Apps and integrations. Every plugin, module and connection (ERP, 3PL, email, reviews) mapped to a Shopify app or a custom replacement in the audit.
- A way back. Staging sign-off before launch, the old store kept up as the rollback, and 30 days of monitoring after.
The detailed playbooks live on their own pages: WooCommerce to Shopify, Magento to Shopify and BigCommerce to Shopify.
Your AI-Search Citations Move Too
Before the move we record which of your pages ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google’s AI Overviews cite, next to the ranking baseline. Those pages move with their content intact and their structured data rebuilt, and the day-30 report tells you whether the citations held.
Timeline and Quote
Most migrations run 6 to 12 weeks from audit to cutover. A small catalog with simple products is quicker, and B2B or multi-store setups take longer. You get a dated milestone schedule and one fixed quote, custom theme included, before any code runs. Your Shopify plan is a separate monthly cost that replaces the hosting and paid plugins you renew today.

FAQs
Will my SEO and rankings survive the migration?
Yes, when every indexed URL gets a one-to-one 301 and the titles, descriptions and structured data move with the content. Some movement is normal while Google reprocesses the map, and stores settle back to prior rankings in weeks, not months.
Will we lose any products, customers or orders?
No. Everything is imported to a staging store and checked against the live one first, and a final delta import the day before cutover picks up any orders, customers and inventory that changed since.
Will the store go down during the cutover?
No. The switch takes a couple of hours, the old store stays up as a fallback, and we run test orders through every payment method and shipping zone before we call it done.
How is a migration priced?
One fixed quote after the audit, covering the data, the redirects, the custom theme and 30 days of monitoring. The number is settled before any code runs, and the written plan is yours to keep whoever runs the migration. Most migrations land in the low to mid five figures, custom theme included.
What happens after launch?
We watch the store for 30 days, with checks on day 1, 7, 14 and 30 against the pre-migration baseline. Any missed URL that turns up in the 404 log goes into the redirect map as soon as we see it.
